Principal
In 1985, Mike became the founding partner of SCM Architects with the simple goal of building a firm that is attentive to client needs while remaining firmly dedicated to integrity in all aspects of the practice of architecture. Since that time, he has overseen the growth of SCM, assembling a talented group of professionals who are uniquely qualified to respond to new challenges with insight and innovation without sacrificing the core principles on which the firm was established. With over thirty years of experience on projects ranging from educational facilities for all aspects of the learning process, to places of worship and commercial buildings of many types, Mike continues to be inspired by the opportunities that come with each new project and grateful for the chance to pursue his passion for architecture.
Mike was honored by the Harding University Board of Trustees in 1996 for his work on several projects on Harding’s campuses in Searcy and Memphis.
When not working, Mike and his wife Fawnda enjoy experiencing the natural world.
Mike values the lesson found in the poignant question of Matthew 16:26, “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?”
