Intern Architect
Jason Oury joined SCM Architects in early 2009, bringing to the firm a fresh attitude towards life and design. A recent graduate of the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Jason has enriched the SCM project teams with which he is involved by his creative approach to each task and challenge that he undertakes. His dedication and hard work here at SCM parallel his life experience.
Jason is not afraid of a challenge. He considers his greatest life accomplishment to be raising his special needs son Cypress while attending architecture school as a single parent. It is a process which Jason says he is “extremely proud of and thankful for.”
Jason is also an incredibly involved and community-minded person. He personally oversaw the conception, fund raising, and implementation of the Eureka Springs Daffodil Drive, a project that saw nearly the entire Historic Loop of Eureka Springs outlined in daffodils. For his work, he received recognition by the local Citizen newpaper as Citizen of the Month and by the Eureka Springs Historical Society for Outstanding Improvement of a Site (City Wide). His vision is to continue this project someday and see the entire city outlined in daffodils.
Jason says, “[I am] very excited to be here working with such good people and a variety of great projects.”
