SCM Architects is the architect of record for the latest residential development on campus at Harding University.  The first phase of Legacy Park was completed and dedicated in 2012 and includes 64 units in 15 buildings. Phase 2 provides an additional 32 units in six buildings, with the completion of Phase 3 occurring in 2015.  The apartments are designed to meet the needs of married students and their families with each unit having one, two, or three bedrooms.  The plan for the Legacy Park Apartments is based on traditional neighborhood development models and ties into the existing street grid.  Apartment entries are designed to engage the streetscape and sidewalk along the curve with services such as garbage pick-up and residential parking  removed to the interior of the site and away from the pedestrian pathways.

The progression of two-story and three-story buildings along the street establishes an urban scale and the infill development is a suitable transition from the campus core to the well-established neighborhoods that surround it.  The development is anchored by ground-level retail and coffee shop space across from a public greenway and the Legacy Tower landmark, which serves as a visual orientation device and gateway icon.
